Our client, Learning Solutions Alliance, helps organizations become fast, flexible, and responsive by providing convenient, top quality, cost-effective solutions—learning solutions that help achieve business objectives.
Business Situation:
Growing rapidly and believing in the importance of practicing what they preach, Learning Solutions Alliance turned to Outward Bound Professional to help accelerate the process of reviewing the achievements of the previous year and kicking off a new fiscal year as an effective team.
Program Objectives:
While having fun and involving the entire group, the high-level objective of the half-day custom program was to create awareness and insight into three key areas in order to help improve the potential success of the group. The key areas were:

Provide an opportunity for individual growth and development.
- Teamwork:
Practice making an impact as an individual and as a team member while learning to work more effectively as a team in a different environment.
- Celebrate and Reward:
Have fun and celebrate accomplishments during the last year.
Program Outcomes:
Based upon the satisfaction survey results, Outward Bound Professional exceeded learning Solutions Alliance's expectations in every category—scoring almost as high as possible in all categories. The half-day program was such a success that the group continued working on Outward Bound activities after the allotted time frame. Specific outcomes included:
Increased Personal Skills:
Individuals learned the power of accountability while learning specific and applicable skills in the areas of communication, problem-solving, leadership, and planning.
Improved Team Skills:
Common barriers between functional groups were dissolved through trust as the group learned to work together more effectively toward a common goal, discovered the balance between planning and implementing, and focused on "team success."
Opportunity To Celebrate:
After a very successful year, the group was able to reflect, learn, and interact in an environment outside of work. This allowed the group to get to know each other in different roles and to create a strong foundation for future success based on a powerful shared experience.
